Spot LNG prices in Northeast Asia dropped to around $4.5/MMBtu in early April before rising above $5/MMBtu by the middle of the month. Pressure from strong supply growth and the potential for weak seasonal demand is expected to keep regional spot LNG prices comparatively low even during the peak of summer.
The NBP month-ahead price was around 36 p/th as of mid-April. A sharp seasonal decline in prices was seen throughout March. Continued strong supply, supported by cheap LNG imports, will keep pressure on prices...
