Severely depleted gas inventories in the United States, together with below-average temperatures in November, have boosted the Henry Hub front-month futures price. The price has averaged $4.17/MMBtu so far in December, much higher than $2.78/MMBtu seen in December 2017, and represents its highest monthly average since November 2014.
