Next UN climate head will need an eye for detail

The resignation last month of Christiana Figueres, the UN’s chief climate diplomat, draws a line under the success of December’s agreement at the COP21 climate summit and marks a shift away from political negotiations and toward more practical matters.

Figueres will step down from her post as executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC ) in June, and the search for her successor has already begun.
