Angola began exporting LNG in June 2013 with the start up of its LNG plant. The plant ran into technical problems in February 2014 when it reduced operating capacity to 50%. The discovery of a leak in April led to the total shutdown of the plant, and it is not expected to restart until mid-2015.
The plant exported 0.4 mtpa of LNG during the time it was operational according to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2014. Cargoes were recieved by Brazil, China, Japan and South Korea, according to BP.
