The threat of strike action will hang over Argentina’s gas supply during the southern hemisphere winter, a source close to the government has told Interfax Natural Gas Daily. Disruptions to any of the country’s three main supply sources – domestic production, piped imports and LNG – is likely to result in rationing.

"The situation with the country’s oil unions is volatile and that threatens gas supply," a source close to state-run YPF, who wanted to remain anonymous, said on Monday. "We saw last month that strikes have the potential to reduce gas supply by over 10% of total consumption."
