Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to claims that Poland is ready to stop importing gas from Gazprom after its long-term contract expires in 2022 with a suggestion that a new arrangement could see gas delivered and sold at the Belarusian border.

"Concerning Poland’s refusal to purchase our gas after 2022, our partners on the corporate level have refused nothing yet. The statement was made by a high-level official. Since the company that buys [gas] is a state company, we proceed from the notion that this [refusal to buy Russian gas] is possible," Putin said.
