Energy experts have cautioned Belgium about its severe security of supply issues for the past two years, but the warnings have still not led to a coherent new energy strategy.

"The government has not presented any real long-term energy strategy. [Belgian Energy Minister Marie-Christine Marghem] said she will do so in 2017, but that is already two years later than planned. The delays just add to the uncertainty," Matthias Snoeck, energy procurement consultant at E&C consultants, told Interfax Natural Gas Daily.
