Chongqing steps up gas distributed generation

Ample gas supplies and low prices are enabling Chongqing, a gas production hub in southwest China, to ramp up development of gas-fired distributed generation (DG) projects.

Experts say DG will be a major gas consumer in China. The segment has an especially positive outlook in Chongqing, said Xiong Yinzhou, deputy director of energy at the local arm of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
