The Cyprus Oil and Gas Association was formed in 2012 by energy companies – including GE, Total and Technip – and several Cypriot oil and gas professionals. It has since attracted another 75 members, according to its president and co-founder, Andy Varoshiotis. In an interview with Interfax Natural Gas Daily, Varoshiotis discussed Cyprus’s upcoming licensing round and the issues facing its oil and gas industry.

Interfax Natural Gas Daily: Total originally planned to develop a base for its exploration activities at Larnaca. After Larnaca rejected the plan Total decided to set up operations in Limassol, and other companies are likely to do the same. What is the Cyprus Oil and Gas Association’s position on the matter?
