Ireland’s offshore drillers seek low-cost solutions

With Ireland’s Department of Energy having published its first Atlantic margin licensing round awards map, service providers and contractors have been working on the sidelines to find low-cost solutions to help them secure work in the hoped-for surge in exploration.

Companies providing support services to E&P operators are scrambling to achieve first-mover advantage offshore Ireland by coming up with low-cost, risk-sharing solutions and by starting seismic surveying before the companies that won licences begin work.
