Annova LNG, the Texan mid-scale LNG export project, has submitted a pre-filing letter with the United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to construct a liquefaction plant on the Texas Brownsville Ship Channel.

The Department of Energy recently approved Annova to export up to 7 mtpa of LNG to countries that have a free-trade agreement with the US. Construction could begin in 2017, following a successful environmental impact review.

Annova sold a 96% stake last year to Exelon, the largest US network operator of nuclear power stations and a distributor of power from gas-fired generation.
