China's gas-fired power capacity up 29.2%

China’s installed gas-to-power generation capacity increased by 29.2% year on year to 55.67 GW in 2014, according to the country’s Electricity Council.

It predicts another 6 GW will be added this year.

Capacity is planned to reach 100 GW in 2020, 200 GW in 2030 and 300 GW by 2050, with 40 GW, 120 GW and 200 GW coming from distributed generation by those dates respectively.
