China leans on distributors to play storage role
China is looking to expand its gas storage infrastructure, with local distribution companies called upon to play a bigger part.

China’s gas storage capacity – which covers only a tiny fraction of the country’s total demand – presents a significant opportunity for local gas distribution companies, according to industry watchers.
Storage accounts for just 2% of Chinese annual consumption compared with an international average of 10-15%, Liu Deshun, director general of the oil and gas department at the National Energy Administration, said earlier this month.
