Heating-related demand boosts NBP prices

A dip in temperatures has helped the NBP day-ahead climb above 30 p/th ($4.29/MMBtu) after averaging around 29 p/th over the first half of February. Colder temperatures in much of the UK boosted heating-related demand, pushing the NBP day-ahead to just over 30 p/th on Tuesday. UK demand is forecast to be above seasonal norms again on Wednesday, according to the outlook from National Grid. Temperatures have dropped below the seasonal average in parts of the country and while colder weather will last until the end of the week, above-average temperatures are expected to return next week.
