South Korea has outlined plans to participate in the Asia Super Grid (ASG), a Japanese-led initiative that aims to create a vast, interconnected power network linking the Korean peninsula with China, Mongolia, Russia and Japan.

The concept – which has a proposed capacity of more than 10 GW and an estimated completion date of 2040 – is designed to reduce fossil fuel emissions and boost energy security in Northeast Asia through cooperation on the deployment of large-scale solar, wind and hydropower facilities to supply clean energy...
