Poland will see a boost to its gas-fired generation from 2024 following the award of contracts for two gas-fired power blocks in an auction held under its capacity payment system last Friday. New gas-fired power units could also be installed in the next four-to-five years and could win capacity in future auctions.

The preliminary results of the 9.1 GW auction will not be released until Wednesday, according to Polish electricity network operator PSE. However, PGE spokesperson Maciej Szczepaniuk announced soon...
