The European Commission on Wednesday formally announced a roadmap to increase the EU’s 2030 carbon dioxide emissions reduction target and extend the scope of the bloc’s carbon market, among other measures.
At first glance, the ‘European Green Deal’ roadmap looks supportive of renewables such as offshore wind and inclusive of conventional gas as well as hydrogen and carbon-capture technologies.
