EDF announced this week that it is increasingly likely that its 3.26 GW Hinkley Point C nuclear power station will miss its planned startup date of late 2025. The announcement coincides with a number of recent setbacks for the nuclear industry in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

The company said the first unit at the Somerset-based plant could be delayed by up to 15 months, while the second could be pushed back by up to nine months. EDF also warned that the...
