The future of Argentina’s LNG and pipeline gas imports is anything but bright. Argentina’s gas production is rising, but there is limited scope for demand growth as the country is going through a recession. The government is adamant about stopping imports of LNG and pipeline gas to narrow its trade deficit. Meanwhile, domestically produced gas in Argentina is price-competitive, which is also hitting imports of the fuel.
