The European Commission has put Romania’s left-wing government under further pressure to liberalise its domestic gas market by threatening court action unless it removes export restrictions on gas from its recently amended national energy law. The move is a part of a series of efforts to force Bucharest to open up its gas sector to more competition in line with EU legislation.
