The key issue: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and his socialist government remained in power following Sunday’s snap election and can now form a coalition with the left-wing Podemos party and others or rule alone as a minority government.

Interfax analysis: Spain intends to phase out coal-fired power by 2030 and nuclear power by 2035, which means that gas and battery storage will compete for market share as back-up sources for renewables.
