Prior to joining Interfax, Peter worked for five years as Principal Consultant at KBC Energy Economics, where he was chief economist and led the group's market analysis team.
He is currently involved in econometric research at Surrey University on the subject of oil and gas pricing benchmarks, building on his 20 years of experience with the Price Reporting Agency (PRA) Platts. He worked at Platts for 15 years in a number of different roles, including Director of Markets and Pricing, in which role he was responsible for Platts global assessment processes for all commodities.
Peter is a frequent speaker at oil and energy industry conferences on all aspects of the oil and gas value chain, as well as emerging markets such as bio-fuels. He has spoken and chaired discussion sessions at conferences in Europe, Middle East, Russia and Asia for companies such as Euromoney, Oil Council, SMi, Platts, Informa, Lloyds List and others.
He has also contributed to discussion on radio and TV programs on energy issues, and provided training on energy pricing to government departments, academic institutions and many large companies.
His specialisms include: oil and gas supply-demand fundamentals and trade; oil refining; oil and gas pricing; new fuels technology; technical and econometric analysis of markets; and the role and practices of the PRAs.
Abhishek Kumar has several years of analytical experience within the financial markets and elsewhere. He joined Interfax in June 2012, working with Chief Energy Analyst Peter Stewart to launch Global Gas Analytics in October of that year. Before that, he was a financial analyst at Schneider Trading, where he covered a wide range of asset classes - including commodities, equities, fixed income, and foreign exchange.
Abhishek has worked on a number of analytical publications, many of which he helped launch. He has previously worked as a business analyst for Procter & Gamble and as an aerospace researcher for the University of Leicester and the Group for Aeronautical Research and Technology in Europe.
Abhishek has a special interest in analysing natural gas markets in the Americas and the Middle East & Africa – the regions he covers for Global Gas Analytics.
Catriona Scott has more than 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Interfax, Catriona worked in research and consulting at Wood Mackenzie, where she focused on Asia Pacific and was a lead analyst for China. Catriona then joined Gas Strategies, where her consulting work included the negotiation of a gas-to-power sales contract in Russia and project management of a UK gas storage capacity allocation process.
Catriona has a BA in Chinese and Asia Pacific Studies from the University of Leeds and a diploma in Financial Management from the ACCA.
