Politics and logistics have prevented Trinidad and Tobago from supplying cheap gas to its energy-hungry Caribbean neighbours, experts have told Interfax Natural Gas Daily. However, the gas-rich island nation still has a big opportunity in small-scale LNG.

The issue has resurfaced after Barbados paid as much as $15.78/MMBtu for six small-scale LNG imports from the United States between February and April, according to data from US Department of Energy released earlier this month.
