Electricity exports to Beijing along an ultra-high voltage (UHV) power line could crimp local gas power generation and drag on the capital’s gas demand growth, industry experts have told Interfax Natural Gas Daily.

Transmission along a UHV line from Inner Mongolia to Beijing’s Shunyi district began on Sunday after State Grid Corp. of China – the country’s biggest power transmission company – finished building the line last Thursday, Chinese media reported.
