
Victor Vlad Grigorescu, Romania’s energy minister, is confident the European Commission’s drive for greater transparency in third-country intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) will yield results.
The commission wants to review IGAs, which form the basis for gas supply contracts with Russia, before they are signed to see if they comply with EU law. The current regulatory framework, which was adopted in 2012, only allows the commission to see IGAs after they have been signed.
