Algeria to woo IOCs with prospecting licences

Algeria intends to offer prospecting licences to IOCs as part of its bid to boost exploration and production in the country.
State hydrocarbons agency Alnaft has invited IOCs to attend a meeting in Algiers on 5 June, where it will outline the potential benefits of the licences – which will include preferential treatment in the allocation of exploration contracts. Companies already operating in Algeria, as well as potential new entrants, have been invited to attend the June meeting.
