Development of the Walvis Bay power plant in Namibia is on hold until next week, when a court will decide whether state utility NamPower wrongfully awarded preferred bidder status to Xaris Energy over rival developer Arandis Power.

"We have reason to believe that the evaluators failed to correctly apply the terms and conditions of the tender in the evaluation of the bids," Ezio Vernetti, managing director of Arandis Power, told Interfax Natural Gas Daily.
