
Spot trading of gas on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) started a year ago with monthly turnover in the tens of millions of cubic metres. Within a year, monthly trading volumes had topped a billion cubic metres, but this is still just a fraction of what is allowed by the regulators. Interfax talked to SPIMEX President Alexei Rybnikov about how the exchange will continue to increase turnover.
Interfax: A year has passed since the first exchange trading of gas, with 12 trading sessions held. How do you assess the results of your work on the gas market?
