Tatiana Mitrova, head of oil and gas research at the Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a director of Russia E.On, has been involved in the preparation of Russia’s new Energy Strategy for 2035. She spoke to Interfax at the Global Energy Summit in London. The country’s oil sector has been targeted by sanctions from western countries but the gas sector also faces challenges, for example, in acquiring finance for LNG projects such as the Novatek-led Yamal LNG project and Gazprom’s Vladivostok LNG.
