Existing and planned Indonesian LNG projects. Existing and planned Indonesian LNG projects.

The economics of Inpex’s small Abadi FLNG project in Indonesia are looking even less appealing after the drop in oil prices, and now the project operators face a choice between expanding or delaying the development.

The project’s modest first phase – a floating vessel that can produce 2.5 mpta of LNG and 8,400 barrels of condensate per day – has long been considered too small for the Masela Block, which holds gas reserves of 18.5 trillion cubic feet (524 billion cubic metres).
