The key issue: The EU institutions adopted a number of policy changes in 2019 that will help change the energy and climate landscape in the coming years.

Interfax analysis: The 11th-hour agreement between Russia and Ukraine on gas transit marked the end to an eventful 2019, although Kiev and Brussels ultimately had to settle for a five-year contract instead of the 10-year duration they wanted.
