The Stated Policies Scenario in the International Energy Agency’s (IEA’s) World Energy Outlook 2019 sees global energy demand rising by 1% per year to 2040, marking a slowdown from the 2% average annual growth seen since 2000. Growth will be led by Asia, and in particular India, the IEA said in the report, which was published on Wednesday.
