The key issue: Shannon LNG was one of only three developments in Western Europe to be included in the fourth list of EU Projects of Common Interest for gas.

Interfax analysis: The EU has supported Ireland’s plans to build an onshore LNG terminal by including the development in its list of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs), although local opposition will be difficult to overcome.
