Spain plans to adopt a new system for LNG operations from January aimed at tackling the underutilisation of some of its LNG terminals and improving liquidity in its market.
The proposal, put forward by national regulator the CNMC, paves the way for creating a unified management system across Spain’s six operating LNG terminals – Barcelona, Sagunt, Bilbao, Mugardos, Huelva and Cartagena – and will concentrate regasification and storage into a single hub.
