Argentina is reeling from the worst blackout the country has ever witnessed. Reports suggest the incident on 16 June caused complete power outages in Argentina and Uruguay, while supplies were also disrupted in Paraguay and Chile. The timing could not have been worse for Argentine President Mauricio Macri as the blackout happened on the day of provincial elections in the country. Electricity has since been restored to most affected customers.
