The key issue: Kosmos Energy is divesting part of its 30% interest in Phase 1 of the Tortue/Ahmeyim project as the company focuses on other promising gas discoveries off West Africa.

Interfax analysis: Kosmos Energy’s shares in the Tortue/Ahmeyim project are likely to be a major draw for IOCs looking to invest in West Africa. Company Chief Executive Andy Inglis told investors in February that Kosmos had already received several unsolicited bids for its assets in the region.
