Philippines may hold IOCs liable for climate change

Political and social pressure is mounting on major greenhouse gas emitters to take responsibility for climate change.

The Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines (CHR) is investigating claims brought by environmental advocacy groups and non-governmental organisations that oil majors, as well as other fossil fuel and mining companies, should be held responsible for the impacts of climate change because of their large greenhouse gas emissions.
