Saudi power privatisation details in development

Saudi Arabia’s government has said it will privatise the country’s power generation assets by 2020. But while Riyadh’s overall strategy is clear, some aspects regarding the way in which the move will be carried out are yet to be determined.

Saudi Arabia intends to privatise its existing power generating infrastructure as part of its drive to improve efficiency, which also includes a shift towards gas-fired power.
