The offshore section of the Balticconnector pipeline has been completed on schedule, putting the project on course to be commissioned by the end of 2019, the developer said on Monday.
With a bidirectional capacity of 7.2 million cubic metres per day, the Balticconnector will link Finland to Estonia and neighbouring gas markets in the Baltic region. Finland currently imports all of its gas from Russia’s Gazprom, with volumes estimated at 2.3 billion cubic metres in 2017.
