The key issue: Japan’s Jera and Bangladesh’s Summit Group signed an agreement last week that will see the two companies collaborate on energy projects in Bangladesh.

Interfax analysis: The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Japan’s Jera and Bangladesh-based Summit Group last week to cooperate on the construction of a port at Matarbari in Bangladesh could make them frontrunners to build the country’s first onshore LNG terminal.
