
The southern Chinese province of Guangdong is targeting a sixfold jump in gas-fired distributed generation (DG) capacity by the end of the decade, but industry experts have cast doubt over the longevity of the new projects.
Guangdong is China’s leader in gas-fired DG and plans to add 1 GW of capacity by the end of 2020, a source at the Guangdong Research and Development Centre for Technological Economy told Interfax Natural Gas Daily.
