It seems 2015 was a rollercoaster ride for the United States gas industry, with a fair number of highs and lows achieved this year.

Notable achievements include record highs for domestic gas production and proven reserves – the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a record volume of dry gas produced in September, at 64.8 billion cubic metres, or 2.2 bcm/d. US proven total gas reserves increased by nearly 1 trillion cubic metres in 2014, to 11 tcm. The 9.8% increase boosts the national total of proven gas reserves to a record high for the second consecutive year, the EIA reported in November.
