BLM faces backlash over fracking rules

An injunction issued by a US district court against new federal fracking regulations may leave the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) with no authority to regulate the controversial drilling practice.

A Wyoming court issued a preliminary injunction last week against the BLM’s regulations, proposed in March, which require public disclosure of the chemicals used in fracking and plans for wastewater management on federal and Indian lands.
