
The year 2015 has been one of disputes and discord in the former Soviet region, seeing Moscow once again at odds with Kiev over gas supplies as Russia continues to look for alternative export routes for its gas.
Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrainy remain locked in a dispute at the Stockholm Court of Arbitration over the terms and pricing of gas supplied under their 2009 long-term contract. Naftogaz has now raised its claim to $25.7 billion and a verdict could arrive next summer, once hearings are completed.
