Brazil, Argentina and Trinidad & Tobago will drive the growth in Latin America’s gas production.
Rising IOC interest in Brazil’s pre-salt acreage will support gas output in the country. Brazil produced 6.69 bcm of pre-salt gas in the first four months of 2018, accounting for 51% of its overall gas output. The share of pre-salt gas was around 45% during the same period in 2017. GGA forecasts Brazil’s total marketed gas output will rise by 7% year on year in 2018, to 29.4 bcm.
