The much-feared trade war between the United States and China has finally come to pass and is set to escalate further.
On 15 June, US President Donald Trump announced the imposition of tariffs on imported goods worth $50 billion per year from China. This was swiftly followed by China releasing its own list of products imported from the US that will face additional duties, including hydrocarbons such as oil and gas.
