Santos is looking at developing its long-held gas assets in the Bonaparte Basin offshore northwest Australia, with ConocoPhillips’ Darwin LNG facility a possible export point, the group told Interfax Natural Gas Daily this week. 

This follows the recent acquisition of Engie E&P’s 60% stake in the fields by cash-rich Neptune Energy, which is keen to target rising LNG demand growth in Asia and considers Bonaparte a prime development opportunity.
