Qatar is diverting LNG cargoes from the UK to markets in Asia because of higher Asian netbacks.
Qatari shipments are finding it difficult to attract customers in Latin America because of the region’s weakening LNG demand. Also, opportunities within the MEA are limited as the region has left the peak summer demand season. However, Asian demand is expected to rise during the northern hemisphere winter, making it an attractive destination for Qatari shipments.
