MEA countries will struggle to produce enough gas this year and next to meet their export obligations and domestic demand.
The marketed gas production of the key MEA countries increased by 4% on an annual basis in H1 2016, to 406.8 bcm. GGA expects the figure for 2016 as a whole to be 777 bcm, a year-on-year increase of 2%. The region’s gas production will rise this year despite low prices because several countries are still maintaining high levels of upstream spending.
