Europe & Russia: Storage
Stock levels in major European markets took a hit at the start of the winter as supplies were used to meet demand.
Levels of stored gas in major markets across Europe are down year on year, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe data. Germany’s storage sites were down to around 55% full by the middle of January compared with around 74% at the same time last year. The harsh weather and snow that hit much of the region at the start of the year has led to heavy drawdowns, which have left stock levels in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK down on an annual basis.
